Default 24 Hours of Lemons Race: 1st Gen xB

Just finished, well mostly finished racing a xB in the Thunderhill 24 Hours of Lemons this weekend in Willows, CA Car did very well for being way underpowered until a still unkown electrical issue stopped us about 12 hours into the weekend.

Car & Driver has the pic front & center. here is the link.

Now I need some major help cobbling together a Turbo to add what ever we can to get faster. ... Big Willwoods allowed us to outbreak 90% of the field, suspension mods allowed us to pass in corners, but we got killed in the straights.. will post some go-pro clips when edited down

Any Nor-Cal help would be great. I'm in East Bay..

Epic Car + Driver mag quote "we have our first-ever Scion xB, complete with the very rare Burning-Toast Option package!" Gotta luv that.

Besides the Soul Kia car infamous Hamster TV commercial. "you can deal with this or you can deal with that" Even the car mag media taunts us 1st Gen xB's. LMFAO

In true Lemons sprit... hell no we didn’t buy the car for $500. But if you read the rules, and everyone of the teams up there do, except the one teams car died after it rolled off the trailer..) It was a double salvage title car bough from a auto auction with the front structure badly damaged and the back hatch area demolished. It has a alum skin on the back and a lot of 10# sledge work with 1" & 2" square tube in the front...

Paid $1150, sold the interior and misc parts, for about $600.. a few suspension adds brought us back to a bit over the $500 which got us put in class A but no lap penalties as the car had a bone stock 1.5 l with a slushbox...

Brakes are considered a safety item so they don’t count against you...

We put konis off Craigs list on it. Tightend them down and they worked fine. The person who had it before totaling it, had lowered it and looks to have put big swaybars. I measured the front bar on my 06 and the one on the 04 is bigger. we put a rear bar forom craigs list on backwards (don't ask why) and it seems to work. The guy had a front crosmember brace (painted orange to match the 1.0 release was this a stock item?) We welded 1 1/2 square tube between the rear shock towers, and put a k patterned cross bar in the hatch because the hatch was toast .. we just have a alum sheet attached to the back. The 6 point cage helps to stiffen the chassis. It is welded to frame at A piller, B piller, and back bars go into frame at the rear suspension. 17x 7 rims came on car. I have a set of 17 x 7.5s but didnt want to pay Big O for the swap after I already put he Drezzias on (I was also told by our local PD in clear terms not to drive on the street anymore... The tire place is less than a mile from shup.. my luck I got popped the first time i drove on the street to test the brakes... Glad we didnt go with the 7.5s as we had to grind and pound a lot in the front area to clearance the tires, We also had to flare the fenders at the track with a pair of channel locks.

I'm in the Modesto area, so East-Bay isn't far. What has been done already to the engine, if anything? There are still NorCal clubs to look into for help.
