Default alright kids it's time to pound on scion...

in order to get them to make the turbo kit from the newly released vitz turbo m (US yaris) 1.5L available as an aftermarket accessory for the 1.5L xa, xb, echo and corrolla drivers stateside.

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...ota_yaris.html

http://toyota.jp/customize/vitz/trdturbom/index.html

Specs on the car are 150hp, now i'm betting that it may have lower compression through different pistons, likely runs different cams and obviously ECU. but i don';t see why a slightly neutered version making 130-135hp at 7lb of boost wouldn't be possible or safe

plus the LSD and cams could be additional accessory options.

there's only one change of making this happen though, pipe up and let toyota/scion know you want it. scion is suspossed to be different, now it's time for them to prove it, introduce performance accessories for models that are no longer on showroom floors.

(marketing hint, if you do so when we come in to order the new parts for our cars we'll see the current model lineup up close and personel).

i've never read such utter s***. if they were going to do it, they'd have done it. they've already sold you the car, so they dont care what you think, and it vitz turbo is a different model, not just an extra. as for the TRD kit, its just a bolt on kit with the internals stardard. and why be so bothered about it when theres so many aftermarket kits available?

oem quality and engine management

frankly with except of the 2.4L kits every FI scion kit i've seen is garbage. the turbotoyotas one has good components but no EM, which is one of the 2 most important aspects.

and oh yeah i'm sure toyota doesn't want us to come in drop, make $1500-2000 in PROFIT on us while having us a captive audience to expose us to new models

marketing > you

it is a different model, different head w/cams, pistons, etc as i mentioned in the post. however the basic setup could be dumbed down for use to retrofit the us spec 1.5L making it even cheaper for toyota to produce.

but with the attitude and lack of response from so called euthusists i wouldn't bother with it if i were them either, now i know why Wirth gets so fed up sometimes.

no its not a different engine, head is the same, cams are the same, and pistons are the same. and as for quality components, most of the kit for the yaris turbo, comes off the 1.4 d4d diesel yaris. so they really put lots of effort into development.

what a pointless thread.

not to mention even though 5k isn't cheap, you're getting into mini cooper S power to weight ratios for far far less then a MCS

and resale value doesn't take OEM accessory levels into consideration, theorically scion could impliment accessory lines for outgoing models leading to 85-100% resale value by KBB rules and standards (that's a funny wrinkle of the idea)
