Built auto trans. xB moving forward
Finally decided to do the push and get this project finished in time for the 2010 show season. if you've seen me on the boards you know I've been trying to get this done since about March of 09. My xB was supercharged, blew a rod, swapped the motor, went with a Greddy turbo / Dezod intercooler, sold the turbo, and at the moment am completely stock minus the exhaust.
All components are in, so now it's just my time and labor to get this finished. All machine work has also been done except cutting the exhaust to fit the downpipe, which can't be done until the turbo is in for fitment. Final build will be:
Built 1NZ-FE short block
- Wiseco 10:1 pistons, .5 over, thermal coating on face, dry lube coating on skirts
- Crower rods, block notched to fit
- Toga HP bearings, standard bearing size is within Toyota clearance tolerance for main and rod bearings
- rotating assembly balanced, block bored by Clinton Machine Shop
365Motorwerks turbo kit
- Garrett GT2252 turbocharger, internal wastegate @ 8 psi
- Stainless log manifod
- Black powdercoated intercooler piping
- Dezod vertical flow FMIC
- AEM dryflow filter on short ram intake
- AEM F/IC piggyback
- Boomslang PnP harness for 06 xB
- Deatschwerks 550cc injectors
- HKS SQQV BOV (routed for recirculating)
Greddy turbo timer
Custom 2 1/4" cat-back w/ Hushpower exhaust
B&M Supercooler auto trans oil cooler
Dezod vac manifold
Prosport oil pressure, water temp and boost gauges
AEM UEGO AF/R gauge
I'm shooting for 150 WHP, though to start I'm leaving the wastegat @ 8 psi and will probably be closer to 140.
In the future I will be adding a boost controller and my go up to 10-12 psi. I also have a NOS-branded nitrous kit that was purchased used. I'm not planning on running it internally but would like to reconfigure it as a chiller bar for the intercooler. I'm also looking into a transmission valve body upgrade through IPT. I've got a spare transmission already so could send the core up at any time, more a matter of $$ on that one.
I'm hoping to be turbo again by the College Park meet on May 2. Pictures will be posted this evening of progress so far. If anyone has a black HKS SQQV and wants to trade for a silver one, please let me know.

First pics.
The FMIC was installed for the old Greddy setup, but here's how it mounts.
In light of being buried under 30" of snow in February, the project moved indoors. I had a spare bedroom not in use, so it got turned into an engine re-assembly area.
I've done some test fitment but still need to notch the forth cylinder to get all the rods to clear.
I call this the box o' fun
