Default Mod Chip

Does anyone have any experience with the "chips" sold on ebay? The ones that are just a resistor that you add that fools your computer into thinking the air temp is 56 degrees.

I'm assuming that by adding the resistor it would make the computer in turn put out more gas to compensate for the colder air; am I correct?

Mostly the reason why I am asking is, I just ordered a dry nitrous kit for my xb. I've been reading that a problem with running a dry nitrous kit is that the mixture will be too lean. Would this 'chip' help compensate for the nitrous making it run lean?

Wow, you seem to think im retarded. I used to build military/govt/pd interoperability radios for 10 months, I know what a resistor is, I was just trying to identify it as being the "chip" that supposed to make the car faster and i guess mod's the MAF. Didn't want to confuse anyone.

Does anyone have any real answers to my question, please.

Sorry for the saltiness.

You will need to get some type of engine managment to help with the controling fuel. When are you planing on spraying? At the push of a button or wide open throttle? I honestly wouldnt trust a resistor/chip to do your bidding when it comes to fuel control. But there are a number of people running nitrous with out engine managment and no problems, but I also belive they only spray at WOT.

Yes most kits come with or you can order a harness that connects to the throttle position sensor and knows when you are at WOT... Check with Stripper and see if they have that option available, since thats who you bought it from.

i'm sorry.. i worked for the military too. i operated multi-billion dollar equipment that powered an entire ship both electrically and propulsion wise. that statement is worthless to me.

now what you need to realize is that this topic has been covered to death in other threads already.
