Default PLEASE READ!!! any one using a wire adapter for a piggyback

For anyone using a ecu adapter for any sort of piggyback fuel managment ie Greddy Emange, Unichip etc.

PLEASE check the harness befor you use it!! Double check it against the instructions that come with the piggyback you are using.

I don;t want anyone to make the mistake I did as it can be a costly one.

I didn't check the harness before using it. Made the assumption it would be correct and it bit me in the @%&!

I purchased a ecu adapter for the Greddy emanage for an 06 xB from a very reliable source. It was totaly wired backwards. Nothing was correct. Cost me valuable time and fried the stock MAF sensor, plus the cost of the adapter.

If I wasn't working with some really understanding individuals it would have been a costly error. Found the issue at the dyno shop and they could have billed me by the hour as I figured out and fixed the problem.

Wouldn't wish what I went through this weekend on anyone.

So to all of you out there, double and triple check your parts. Especially anything electrical.

Regards-

Todd

What were your symptoms?

I just hooked up my eManage for my Greddy S/C... everything seems to be running fine right now...

Did your problem devlop over time, or did it happen as soon as you hooked it up?

The Greddy eManage harness is made for the 04-05 xB. The '06 ECU has a completely seperate pinout. I was on the phone with Greddy the past few days and got a complete pinout of their end of the harness. This was cross referenced to a '06 xB ECU pinout graciously provided to me from another SL member. EVERY wire with the exception of power, ground and injector ground need to be moved, and the old ignition signal pins and airflow input pins will need to be spliced back together. I have a spreadsheet available, as well as the 06 ECU diagram, for those who would want it. Please send me a PM if interested.

NOTE: I have not installed this harness yet so I can not guarantee it will work, this is based soley on the stock Greddy harness, discussions with Greddy, and the Scion ECU diagram. I will be installing it this weekend and will post how it goes.

Ok. So then this won't affect me in my '05. But still a great help to others here in the community. I'll be watching to see how it turns out for you!
