day one, everthing was fine i triple checked everything, no leaks, no problems.. ran like a dream spooled very nice about 2500-3000.. pulled very nice.. i ran acura tsx injectors(modified inector clips)... they are a little different style but i ran it several times and no leaks, i drove it around for like 40 miles without a single issue..


day two, just drivin to pick up my check from work.. on the way home i smelled gas and instantly pulled over.. TOO LATE POOF!! called 911 and they came and put it out, they had to axe the hood off to put it out.. insurance is going to give me the value of the car about 12,000.. the car is totalled

im going to buy it back and start over with tc motor, trans, etc..

amazingly the manifold, turbo intercooler piping, lines, etc is fine.. first 1500 takes the whole turbo kit.. its a little dirty but ill have pics its not bad at all..

So what did the cause end up being, injectors that didn't directly work with the car?

 

well they are a different style injector.. but they were fine the day before and i checked it over and over.. im assuming it started leakin all of a sudden.. and i just bought the car last april brand new.. so i owe a little more than what they are givin me.. but i think i have gap so they might just pay it off.. we'll see

 

sounds to me like the injectors you used werent seated properly. Either that, or you re-used the acura injector seats which were most likely a different diameter or something.

My only question is this... With all the drop in injectors available for the 1nz-fe, why would you choose to go with an injector that was a different style?

No sir, it was not my idea.

He had the injectors already so he tried to make them work.
