Default tc injectors and ultimate not working

tune shop tried tuning with tc injectors and ultimate didn't like them. so, he's going with the celica injectors. don't know what year tc the injectors are, but denso number is 23250-28080. anyone have problems with tc injectors and ultimate?

for whatever reason, the tc injectors wouldn't run correctly when set up in ultimate. so in the interest of not screwing around with expensive dyno time, we switched to the celica injectors. they worked well until we hit a few rpm points where the stock ecu cut fuel. unfortunately, emanage couldn't add enough fuel in high boost at these points to give ideal afr. we did trick emanage by setting them up at 240cc rather than 310cc. that seemed to work. there's something about the stock ecu at 4200rpm. it's like it turns vvt off and VE goes down. that's where it would cut fuel and cause issues with emanage. the other problem was that MAF voltage went too high for the stock ecu causing it to go into safe mode. ultimately, we got 160 whp and 190 wtq at 10psi. once I figure out the MAF issue, back to the dyno for more boost :-D

I have been running the tC injectors in my engine with G-E Ultimate with no issues.

From what my tuner told me Emanage is very, very picky about what size the injectors are. From the research that I have done and info that is available keep this in mind.

The stock injector size is estimated at 210cc.

The tC uses 370cc high saturation/low impedence injectors.

When the final tune was complete my tC injectors were running at 89% duty cycle.

If I had access to my emanage map I would get them for you but, my car doesn't have an engine in it as I am doing a build similar to yours for the internals and my engine bay is nearly empty.

not sure whats up with that... stock 1nz are 185cc and my tc,xa, and celica injectors are all high impedance. in fact, everything that i've read about tuning engine management systems, is that OEM injectors are high impedance and that low impedance injectors are used in race applications... it turns out that my set of tc injectors are 1.5 ohms higher in impedance than my stock injectors. Since we're dealing with low voltages, 1.5 ohms higher resistance can make a huge difference. especially if you consider that in a parallel circuit, amperage drop occurs over the load. thus meaning that the flow of current is affected as opposed to a series circuit where voltage drop occurs over a load and amperage stays constant throughout the circuit. Could definitely be the issue.

Pardon my mistake. You are correct.

The tC injectors are High impedance not low. I just double checked with a couple of sources.

yup. I just checked with an ohmmeter ;-)
