Default Who is running a turbo on an XB???

Started on doing some research on an SC or a turbo, and it looks like the SC is more popular, but does it give better/worse performance than a turbo?

From most of the posts that I have seen, the blitz SC looks the best. The Greddy, has pipes running over the motor, which I think makes the engine compartment look crowded. I don't know about other turbo kits, but they don't have a really "clean" appearance.

Has anyone done a direct comparison between a turbo and an SC setup? Dyno's...1/4 mile? WHP?

I want "real" numbers, if you have them, not just but dyno stuff.

Thanks for your opinions and info.

I have the Blitz SC. The before and after dyno numbers were 84 hp before and 113 hp after. I watched the after dyno run (scared me good) and feel that the 113 was a fair number.

I've not done a 1/4 mile run and probably will not cause I am not a drag race person and don't intend to give my ride a bunch of hell after all the money I've invested. I have been asked by lots of other scion owners to do a quik run just get a quik comparison, so if I do, I will let you know.

Keep us posted on your finding, very interesting to see what you decide to get.

Default Turbo Install + Borla Exhaust

If the parts arrive, Airport Toyota Scion will be adding a Extreme Turbo and Borla Exhaust to my XB next week. I will let you know how it goes. I live in the Dayton Ohio area, does anyone know of a speed shop with a dyno in my area.

As for power remarks.. I've seen a ton of s/c xb's both auto and manual's run anywhere from 115whp-130whp, i've seen turbo set ups run anywhere from 120whp-150whp. Theres one guy off the top of my head with a s/c running 158whp, but hes highly, highly modified.

Basically, you need power to make power with a supercharger. With a turbo, its all of a matter of how much you are willing to spend to make sure you don't blow the motor..which is true with superchargers as well, of course, but you can make more power with this motor turbo vs. super...at least, real life numbers tend to agree with my statement. I wish more n/a products would come out...

Good luck with your build.
