nice link we need at least 100 owners and I will reveal the name of the company later if they don't build the kit. If they do then I will waight until they announce it's release or I will ask if they mind if I reveal who they are I just know they aren't going to want to be flooded with calls about the kit while it is in R&D.

Here is what doesnt sound right to me. A company wants to make a supercharger kit that includes a standalone ecu all for around $3k? Either its a POS ecu or the kit is just bad quality. Assuming its really a standalone, they would have to invest in makeing a harness for the car, which will raise the cost significantly, or you the purchaser of the kit will be responsible for getting the engine management installed...which will cost even more to have the kit up and running right. Also, would the kit come with different size pullies? Or else how would they make boost adjustable to 16psi?

 

well I don't know it's in the thought stage at the moment and I cannot get a simple sample of intrest for the company of a yes or no on whether people would be interested ultimately it's your decision once it's produced. no offence rollhard but you already have a system and there are alot of Xa owners that don't and would like a street legal system. I spend hours on the phone and emailing a company generating interest they want to see a sample of simple yes or no's and instructions went out the window so I give up I'm going to call them in the morning and tell them I'm sorry I wasted their time that I couldn't get a simple sample of intrest. FROM Xa OWNERS ONLY the kit was going to be made by Applied technologies research these guys used to work for NASA and have set the world record with a few cars and do behind the scenes work for alot of companies. they make alot of the current kits that are on the market for alot of cars. I've done alot of leg work for the Xa owners in trying to get projector lights made for us and in trying to get this kit made with no reward or sponsership for myself. I give up whenever something good comes along it always has to be messed up by somone.

Ghostrider25... I really don't think it is fair for you to blame the folks in here for lack of interest. First, the xA market isn't a huge market to begin with. Second, you are asking in a single forum shared by two makes. (Of which your target market is the minority.) Third, there are obvious issues in the plan stated in your original post.

Am I sorry you couldn't get a straight yes or no answer? Yes. Do I think it is ridiculous that you are bitter toward others in this thread for not doing exactly what you wanted? Yes.

I don't think anyone in this post was out of line. I also think you should have set the post up as a poll. You would have likely gotten much better response by doing so. Also, whether your choice or the companies, excluding xB owners was the biggest mistake you could have made. I understand you were talking about a custom hood to make the system work in the xA. But the xB has more hood clearance, and might not have required a new hood.

Explaining that to the company, and helping them recognize what the market truly is could have helped your case quite a bit. We all know that every time someone even hints at a new option for forced induction the xB owners jump all over it. As seen in your post, this isn't the case for the xA.

 

I'm not bitter and it's not exactly what I wanted it's exactly what the company wanted and instructed me to do as with many polls that are run whether it be a political poll or something simple like this there has to be an accurate sample if it cannot be obtained then it is a waste of time for them. The exclusion of the Xb owners was because this kit was going to be specifically made for the Xa and they were thinking of messing with the xb later but the Xa was the primary focus there are enough kits for the XB and the kit was going to be desighned to fill a gap in the market just for the Xa. I think your right in the aspect it should have been a poll but I didn't know how to set one up. The good news is I talked with them this morning and made an appointment to bring my car in and have there R&D department look at it whether it bears any fruit I don't know or not but I am trying to get this thing moving. I was not blaming folks on here for lack of intrest I just didn't realize people who had other kits for an XB would get involved I put it in the Xa section. I thought they were seperated. I did not realize they were so intergrated. keep in mind I came from a forum where everyone stayed in there section. I will have to get used to this so sorry rollhard. Rtons could you possibly facilitate a poll of intrest since I don't know how too and then I could give it to them. If people really are interested. I didn't mean to come across the wrong way believe me. I was only doing what I was instructed to do.

 

oh one more promising thing I forgot to add they made a turbo kit for the GMC typhoon I believe it was I don't think there were many of those cars that came out so maybe they will do the supercharger for the Xa once again my apoligies to rollhard as I have given you many compliments on your knowledge in the past I'm sorry. instead of getting flustered that i couldn't get what they asked. I should have asked somone how to run a poll.

 

I hope you dont think by my speculation that it has messed up any opportunity. If it has, then I appologize. I was simply asking questions. Yes, I have an xb and its boosted already but I was going to pick up an Xa for another project. If a company is serious about making something, they will do their research and not just go by the words of a single customer saying that this and that many people on the forums are interested. Its not bashing or talking trash...thats just making smart business decisions. If a kit can be made under or around the $3k mark, that would be awesome. Im not knocking anyone here. Again, Im sorry if my post messed anything up for you even though I dont know how it could have.

I took the car in they took measurments and looked at the ecu and the wiring extensively for about 3 hours they did tons of measurments I assume for autocad and removed and reinstalled parts. Then I was told that it would be considerd and they would call me if they decide to make the kit and set up a time for me to drop my car off for 4 months for fitament building and tuning so as of right now I am not going to bug them I may call them in a month if i haven't heard from them to see if anything is going to happen but I imagine they will let me know one way or another so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

just giving a sunday august the 13th update. I still haven't heard a word yet I am gining them until friday and then I am calling them. I've already started talking to my major sponsor about some options so if this one doesn't pan out then I'm going to keep pounding dirt until I either run out of companies or I go crazy whichever one comes first and I'm still trying to get a company to make projector headlights for the Xa. I have alot of projects going on and boy do I wish I was rich and had a manufacturing plant. I'd be all over the Xa. but I don't so all I can do is pound the dirt and send emails and make calls. I'll keep everyone posted
