not sure what happened... but we installed a new fuel rail on the box, and we really felt it open up some hidden horses... did some pulls on the highway took it home... about a half hour later, i was getting ready to go out with my girl when i backed outta the driveway.. put her into first, let out the clutch and POP... i loud pop noise, and the car almost stalled...

i looked at my girlfriend and shook it off, went to drive again and heard grinding..

pulled it back into the driveway and i see oil pouring outta the bottom of the car..

not sure what the problem is but i think the driveshafte knuckled popped outta the case.. that is what i get for installing my clutch myself... i hope that is the problem,.... ill keep ya updated .. im sad that the xb is outta commission till i fix her up again..

well it wasnt that either... turns out the transmission blew... the case blew a hole in it and all the oil poured out into my driveway....

could a fuel rail cause this problem? i istalled one that day and that night the transmission went? i do drive the car as hard as possible, and had a history of power shifting when i raced cars...

can i upgrade the transmission? or even change it out for a 6spd or suttin?

bellhousing??

my guess is something inside the diff gave out, like a pin or spider gear or something of that nature, binded against the ring gear and shot out the case..

let me ask you a question fuzion.. how much wheel hop were you getting?? thats the number one thing thats going to break trannies.. especially since these cars have some serious suspension issues.. they were built for 90 WHP ;)

my solution would be.. first, to get a set of polyurethane motor mounts or make some.. cause most of wheel hop is caused by ____ty motor mounts..

and maybe look into a Limited Slip??

nice info man.. didnt think of that
im going to be filling the motor mounts, or swaping them out for stiffer ones..

the pin came loose shattered the gear housing and knocked up into the bell housing and cracked it...

im sending my car to zpi racing, and kenny is going to work on it and possibly fit a tc tranny into the xb... that along with the stiffer mounts will be sure to solve the problem?

any ifno on where to buy new motor mounts?

we can make one off mounts pretty easy...or stiffen up the stock ones. A little winshield grease goes a long way

You gotta watch the torque in the lower gears - maybe if you had a quieter exhost you may have heard the tranny eating itself up. I know I know what would the point be with a quieter exhost.
Did you ever change the tranny oil??
What was the Dyno peak WHP - I read through most of the 10 pages of posts on this thread but didn't see anything.

there is a pin in the gear assembly that works itself loose with all the wheel hop... that gave away and tore up the gearing and hit the housing and cracked it.... im getting this fixed, and then i will be getting a dyno for you... i am definetly up there in whp... i keep up with my boys v8 mustang with a catback exhaust...

ill keep yall updated..... thx for the info on the engine dampener, ill be looking into this

You sound like the equivalent of Me, but only in an xB. I powershift when racing too. Word to the wise, if you drive like me, and you just got a turbo on the car, change the tranny fluid BEFORE your spirited driving. Will thank me later. I haven't blew up our tranny in the tC, but I am experiencing some turbulence when accelerating. It's been abused, while I didn't know it was low on tranny fluid. It started by poping out of 3rd gear. Before I realized I need to change to higher grade oil, the damange has been done. It can still be driven, but I'm going to replace the tranny soon, so I can get back to racing.

PS....When you get that tranny fixed fusion...Wanna race me in the tC?

Yeah looking at the tranny blowup diagrams is looks like it has 4 shafts in it?? that is about twice the usual shafts in the transmissions that I have seen. Looks pretty complicated.
