I haven't blew up our tranny in the tC, but I am experiencing some turbulence when accelerating. It's been abused, while I didn't know it was low on tranny fluid. It started by poping out of 3rd gear. Before I realized I need to change to higher grade oil, the damange has been done. It can still be driven, but I'm going to replace the tranny soon, so I can get back to racing.

PS....When you get that tranny fixed fusion...Wanna race me in the tC?
just saw your post man, hell yeah ill race you... lol...

Hey don't let it get you down too much - who would have thought that the tranny would be engineered with such close limits on its power handling. I have been working on electric vehicles for about 5 years now and have blown up several $1000 controllers - you just have to fix it better for the next time. Think of it as finding the limits by distructive testing.

Wheel hop is bad - stiffen the slop in the engine mounts and take it easy in the lower gears if you don't have the traction. Smooth takeoffs get you there faster !
Maybe some modification to the suspension in the front would help too - I reworked the rear suspension links of a Chevy Vega a long time ago and got the wheel hop eliminated just by raising the top arm position on the axle.

The pin dropping out may be a problem down the road for everyone that gets a lot of wheel hop - Hope not as I tend to get it when I turn into a side street after stopping when I gas it too much.

wellsaid man...

an update for yall... boston auto transport is charging me 575 to ship my car to zero point, and they will be working on the car, and fixing the transmission... hopefully while were up there, we can take out the rear engine mount and fill it with urethane.... that will eliminate alot of wheel hop...

fill them ALL my friend, it may be a little more vibration from the motor... but it wont be bad.. its just more of a chance it will help prevent wheel hop..

also what mods if any are they going to do to the trans? or will it be a tc tranny? im curious to know.. thanks

Tell me about it Peter I miss my ride also it's been over 2 months but thanks to Kenny, Sean and the staff at ZPI things are finally moving forward and I should be driving her soon. Like billy says whatever your needs are ZPI got you.

Just a little note for all who is a ZPI fan or a Greddy fan ZPI racing has helped me out of a nitemare. They have installed my Greddy turbo and are doing other installs for me that a shop really screwed up. No questions asked didn't talk down anyone elses turbo or company they are a proffesional group of people, Hell they didn't even try to steer me to buy their product, I will say though that my other car will more likely than not get a ZPI turbo. Sorry if I've stole thunder from this thread but I've been reading all the threads for awhile and thought it was time for me to add my 2cent lol.

Happy Holidays too all

Dont sell it. Youll be kicking yourself later. If you have a beater car then just keep the xb and build it into an absolute monster.

Wow thats an awsome offer... Im not sure what I would do in your postion.. You can always sell it and stay in the Scion family with a tC and boost it.. or you could keep it and make it a beast like the poster said above me.. Wish somone would offer 17k for mine..

You actually have to ask the question?! Someone offered you over $17k for a car with a blown transmission? And who knows if you may have more damage. Not saying you do, but what if?

I say sell it and count your blessings. Just make sure the buyer is aware of exactly what they are getting.

You need to make more money dude!! Keep the ride! You have a lot invested in it. Stick a block of wood under that gas pedal so you can't floor it LOL!!
