Default 2004 xB radio...died...are all plug-n-play?

Our 2004 xB's radio/single cd died and need to replace it. No power, nothing. Dealer checked too and no joy. The will order me a new one for a mear $400 or so...thanks but no thanks.

I've seen scion radios, mainly take-outs from Tc, on this forum. Will a
tC or xA takeout plug-n-play in my xB or do I need an xB specific radio? Also, will the newer (2006??) ones with dials rather than buttons work? Any/all help greatly appreciated.

for $400 you can get a nice aftermarket headunit, even a double din or a flipout

i paid $600 from the dealer for my 6-disc Pioneer scion headunit...i'll never make that mistake again

Yea, first step. Even had dealer due followup and they came away with same conclusion. All fuses good. Dead radio and out of warranty.

All the radios are plug-and-play. ALL of them, as in, I have a 2007 Yaris radio in my 2005 xB. (What?! I wanted the aux cable!)

Also:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=sci...unit&_osacat=0

Look, compatible head units for $60. On Buy It Now. Several of them. Problem solved!

Also: read my signature, plz, K THX. ;)

Good luck, dude, it's super-easy.

Thanks all for the info and leads to replacement HUs. Got one from member Danethegreatest: his 2006.5 xB OEM take-out. Plug n play and works like a charm. Thanks again Dane.

You can get the factory T1806, 1807, or 1808 - there's a bunch on ebay.
