I have a 2005 XA and the radio stopped ejecting CDs. Instead of purchasing the same radio again, I want to buy a more updated radio such as the 2007 radio (specs below).
Does anyone know if this radio will work in my 2005 Scion?
The dealer says "they dont know" until I have them install it. Like they don't know even though they sold these cars for the last 5 years.

Also, is the mini jack port capable of supporting a Zune so that I dont need an FM transmitter?

They should just plug right up. Toyota hasn't change out the radio harness in over 2 decades.

 

Do you also know if the mini jack is like a headphone jack, meaning it would support a Zune?

 

yea a mini jack is more like an aux input jack where you can plug in your zune or any device.

ehh, I still don't believe them. They say the same thing with the 05 tc and yet everyone on here still do the swap with later years and they say the same thing with the 08 units not working in the 07 tc.

so after reading that there is a slight difference but something that you should be able to do by following the diy.

 

it will fit but u would have to buy a wiring harness for the aux port.

they say it wont work cause the later yrs have steering wheel controls and aux port.

if u just switch the radio the cd player and radio will work just not the aux.

One of the listed updated radios was a 2007 Xa Radio.
