2005 xB Rear window rolled down on it's own and won't go back up
Hey guys!
Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a 2005 xB, original owner. Been such a solid car. I just drove home and when I turned OFF the ignition, key all the way out, the passenger side rear window started to roll down on it's own. I hit the "UP" position of the switch in the driver door and it stopped the window, but the minute I released it the window started to roll down again. Now it is stuck in the full down position. Zero window issues before this.
Nothing new installed recently. I replaced the radio with a cheap Alpine unit about 2 years ago. I also replaced the airbag spiral cable in the steering wheel around the same time. Beyond that, no other fixes besides normal maintenance.
I tried to reset the ECU/pull negative battery, stepped on brakes for 5 min and re-connected negative. No dice.
I took the switch in the rear passenger door out and disconnected then re-connected the window switch. No dice.
Tried leaving the rear passenger window switch disconnected and roll up via the driver switch.......you guessed it....no dice.
All other windows and switches work, so a fuse is not likely or possible.
From what I read, it seems like it's either the motor itself or the "regulator". Possibly just a short in the switch too?
Any ideas? Would love to fix it. The car only has 90k on it since my wife has owned it for the last 5 years and does not drive very much. I am a DIYer and have fixed everything on this car. Would like to continue that tradition! This is mainly a safety issue now since the window is fully down.
Thank you in advance for any ideas. I used to have the full service manual but have lost the PDFs

Might be the window regulator - very rare on this car (very common on others)
Rock auto shows a plastic square at the end of the arm, it may have split and fallen off.

Only way to tell is by taking off the door panel - or if you can still grab a bit of the window, try lifting it by hand. If you can move it, the regulator has failed.
