Default 5.25 and 6.5 inch speaker install.....hard? MDF rings?

Im installing Infinity kappas throughout the Xb. 4" in dash 6.5 in door and 5.25 in the rear. Ive been reading alot about installation and i was wondering how hard this will be.
4" i just drop them in and trim some of the plate
BUT
the 6.5 and 5.25, how hard will install be? Do i have to make MDF rings or mod some plastic? Or will they just drop in? Please tell/show me how u did it.
IF anyone has pics of install or how to make MDF rings please help.

You can cut the stock speakers out and mount the new speakers in their location. You can always drill the rivets out and use your own spacers too.

Yes drill out the rivets with a bit and then use a jigsaw($30) to cut out some 1/2" or 3/4" MDF rings. Use Self-tapping ground screws to get through the metal. Might want to predrill the holes a little bit too.

Also why put 4" speakers up in the dash for? I doubt it'll sound good besides adding more volume. I personally put like a 3-4 inch tweeter there. =P

For my front dor 6.5s, I drilled out the rivets, and used MDF rings to mount the Ground Zero co-axials.

scosche (www.scosche.com) sells adapters for the xB. This one happens to be for the rear.

Is that adapter for putting 6.5's in the back? It doesn't say anything on the site.

no sure...by the looks of it. maybe only a 5.25. A 6.5 would consume the factory mounting holes.

you can put 6.5's in the back. you will need to trim the metal where it mounts.

for the fronts i used 1 inch MDF (have a very deep speaker)

Yes anyting is possible. If you want to cut the metal to add a bigger speaker it will work. I was just refering to the adapter. IMO, speakers back there are a waste, you are better off adding speakers in the rear door if you need rear fill.

Pretty simple, you can either splice it or go to best buy and get the speaker harness for them. just plug them in and your ready to go.

I ended up getting speaker adapters from crutchfield, they claimed for 5.25's but they fit the 6.5 infiniti kappa perfect midbasses fine in the doors. The only problem is they stick out far enough that I could not get the bottom of the door panel to snap back into place, but it is truly not noticable (and I am pretty picky)

notacop u could fix the door panel not snapping back in at the bottom. All you do is pop out the door panel again, and look at the back of the speaker grille on the panel. There will be a ring that is sticking out. Cut this off with a utility knife or scissors and the panel will sit flush.
