you should really look into this program, you'll get much better picture quality if you map the screen resolution to match the physical resolution of the screen... this is called scaling, and it screws up image quality really bad...
the modern Lilliputs are running 480x848, which happens to be the resolution of EDTV (480p) signal, which is just below HDTV (720p)... DVDs are approximately 550 lines of resolution, so you are scaling that up by computer (to 600) and back down to 480 based on the screens limitations... of course using the VGA connection is preferential... so you might as well do it right... :D
for my home theater I make sure that all outputs are exactly 480p and the quality is phenomenal...
upsize the icons and text from within windows and you'll be happy... maybe even give MediaCar a try...

Mgithens... install it flush under the door man.. that door is a Godsend for screens like that, if its closed no one will know you've got anything better than that stock system, and it'll protect the LCD.
The first time I saw that door over the double DIN i knew it was just begging for a screen under there.
