i don't like neons either, but i do want to personalize the car with changing out the stock color of the dash lights and gauges with all one color(in my case red) . i think it looks better than stock but neons are too much

 

Hmmm... the cup holder lumination actually is there to help you find the cup holder @ night + it looks cool... and yes I do have one and I love it and so as other people that saw it. It's functional too since the cup holders are located where you have to make an effort to reach it.

Most lighting mods being done is for looks. Some people love it some people hate it. It gives that something nice to look at specially in the dark during meets or just when chillin' out outside in the dark in some remote place up in the hills getting ready to get it own with your partner

It boils down to preference... ie. some people couldn't understand why people put 17" rims when 18"s and 19"s looks better... Again, it's their preference and it makes them happy...

BTW, I've never seen a boxy Christmas Tree yet. Just my 02 cents.

Isn't it obvious? It's simple. It's because he/she wanted them! The "cool factor" is such a subjective thing. Do we really need cup holder illumination? Of course not. Do we really need to be dumped and rollin' on aftermarket wheels? Of course not. It's about doing what you think is cool. It's about doing what you want. Even if it means doing nothing at all. :D These kind of topics crack me up. Boy the Scion community would sure be a boring place if everyone's car was the same.

I think Opr8r said it best... it is all about what you like and don't like...

for me a lot of the stuff seems odd to me (except wheels, I'm a wheel convert on what it can do for a car) but you know it's all subjective. I plan to do some lighting eventually to create a certain look, and even some body work, it'll be for me.. you don't like it? eh, you're opinion.. we're all open here, and we definitely all speak our minds, but that is all it has to be taken as.. our own mind, not the owners..

 

I think that the increase in "appearance mods" is mostly due to the inability of owners to do meaningful powertrain mods, what with the morass of smog laws and computerized engine management systems. In the olde days, the first things the young buck with a car would buy were headers, manifold, and carburator. These days, engine mods are either ineffective, very expensive, or will make you have to commit fraud to get your car past smog.

Mine have been up for a lot longer than that. Very handy for our annual "Christmas in July" party!

ok...I have to admit that I do still have 3 pumpkins on my front porch from Halloween!
But, they are uncarved and I wanted to see how long they will last without rotting....last year we had some until june!

Btw, what kind of ____ is that. I have to guess where my Fog lights, mirror adjust, and some other things are.
I don't have the light kit yet from Randode but will buy one just for the above reasons, plus they are much more reasonably priced than mfr option lights.
Don't have the money yet though for the lights, I would like to get suspension first.

 

y not just put in a custom bong in the center console, that way you can light that ____, find what your lookin for (i.e. light), and chill knowing that nothin else is a worry

or what would be really cool is if you ha a big ___ bowl with 4 lighter tips around wired to a button on the center panel were the alarm/fogs are. then you can hit the switch, bust out 4 lights, EASILY find your stuff, and paaaaaaaaahtay
