Default the almighty emergancy brake

hey i bought a billet e-brake handle the other day and when i went to install the other day i realized that that handle doesn't seem to comeo ff.... does any one know how to take off that stock emergancy brake handle.. thankz alot....

talked to the peeps on scion.com and they didn't help with sqat... im thinking that the sucker is like glued on or someting like dat..... please again any help is appreciated.....

i know this im juss playing..... the first time i read it i though it was him writing that thogh... but does anyone really know how to get the lil ebrake handle off......

i think that the e-brake handle goes over old one. llamabob has an e-brake handle on his and it looks like 2 me that its placed over it.

Yeah I am in the same boat. I can't seem to get the E-Brake off as well. Is it possible?

I know with my Focus you had to take a razor blade and put a slit long ways down the whole thing to get if off. -you basically had to destroy the old one. but on the xB it looks like a plastic that would snap off....

two options
rip the old one off or put the new one overtop of the existing one now...

it doesn't "snap off" u gotta cut if off bascially

any suggestions on the easiest way to cut it off?
i have being knawing on it with a razorblade, it doesnt seem to be working

The manual doesn't show the plastic cover as coming off of the tubular lever. It is either molded on or pressed on, so it looks like you either have to pull it off of the end of the lever or resort to more destructive methods.

Well I have carved up my ebrake handle and still cant get it off. LOL. I wd40 it. I trying pliers, knives, and guess I will try a hacksaw unless somebody comes up with a better suggestion

yeah, I'd dremel it... at like 7000 rpm... anything faster will melt the plastic and it might get all messy.... Also, I wouldn't want a cutting wheel lodged into my ez bake oven...
