Amp Location
I installed my Amp under the right side trap door. Bad idea, because it heated up fairly quick. Its a Kenwood 7251. Any Ideas of a better place to mount or a better way to ventilate. I left the styrofom in there. Thanks

I had my Arc Audio amp there until I added the subenclosure. Just cut some vent holes in the sides of the styrofoam. My amp never shut down while I had it back there.
some amps will run hot...if they do run hot don't enclose them...
you could cut a hole in the foam and mount a case fan in it...
you could put the amp under the pass seat...
or on the seat back, or on the box, or in the hatch....

Under the passenger seat is good for a lot of reasons....you don't clog your cargo area, its plenty cool, and the wiring is easier...just installed a kicker kx 600.1 under mine and everything is nice. I'll have pics soon of the whole install, just gotta get the car washed and stuff
lots of leftover install crumbs on the interior, etc... the boys at liquid audio here in fort lauderdale did my avic n1 with the rear view camera mounted inside the glass, just under the third brake light, voice recognition mic, 12 disk cd changer under driver seat, and audioformz sub enclosure with kicker comp vr 10...so far so good, it wasn't an easy install but it is clean and it sounds reeehhl purty.
I don't know how anyone could complain about the minimal fan noise that comes from the head unit fan...barely audible and once you turn the system up AT ALL it is covered up...
