Amp wire! where to run it?
Don't Drill!
Wire goes from: Battery>fuse (within 12" or less)>through rubber grommet on driver side firewall>down kick panel>along door sill>then either under the seat/across the hump OR further along to the rear if your amps live back there.
Ground: As short as possible, same gauge (or larger) to a well sanded/bare metal connection.
I went through the grommet, outside the factory bundle in the accordian folds, not with it through the same hole. Two reasons. One is that there is not much extra room for a 4ga or larger wire and I did not want to fubar any wiring while jamming a coat hanger through with the factory bundle. Along side is easier and no risk of snagging or f'n up any of the factory (expensive) wire harness.

I have a 4 gauge and an 8 gauge power wire running through the firewall grommet and its the best way to run it. I run everything I need through the firewall grommets. Dont bother thinking about doing anything else because its not going to work as well or be as effective...
Why are you running two? Shouldn't you run a 4AWG to a splitter to 8AWG? That's how I've always done it? Hmm... Also, make sure not to run the power wire and the RCA/Speaker Wires on the same side, you may get RF noise.
I just ran a wire through the grommet on the passenger side. Very easy to get to. If you look there is a nice rubber grommet on the passenger side with 2 little nipples on it. If you cut one of the nipples off and LUBE up your wire it will slide right through the grommet and you can slide it down the firewall right behind the glovebox. You may have to get someone to grab on to it and pull it through but it makes for a very nice and neat install. Looks like it was meant to be that way. It will make it easier if you take the grommet out of the hole because its double sided and you'll have to cut a samll slit on the backside. Works really well. If you had another wire you could run it through the other nipple if you needed to. I covered mine with the plastic wire wrap all the way up to the grommet . Looks very neat if I say so myself.
this picture shows the rubber grommet everyone is talking about under the dash, driver's side. You can't really get a good look at it from under the hood to take a picture of it. To get the wire through the hole, I took a razor blade and made a small slit in each side of the wire, then ran the end of a coat hanger through the wire, and bent it over. Then, I was able to force the power wire, attached to the coat hanger, through the grommet.

this image shows the power wire running under the carpet. for this installation, i ran the wire under the carpet and came out under the seat where the seat mounts are located. No carpet cutting involved. The amp is now mounted under the seat.

i did mine the same way.i ran my amp wire and romote cable along together on the driver side. my brother who deals withs stereo crap all the time said for me to run my rca cables on the passanger side,so their wont be no engine noise. you know that noise when ever you push the gas to take off,its like a high pitch sound.but i have no problems yet. so iguess its tru i guess.
