Hey Guys/Gals,
Im probably going to install my amp this weekend coming up and wanted to know what you guys used and how much it cost you? Supposibly the amp pulls "800 Watts" but after getting some advice from some of you guys I think it will only pull about 450 Watts. What wiring kit should I use?
I went to Best Buy today and saw a 250 Watt amp kit for about 35 dollars...is this any good? I appreciate your help!!
Thanks!
Omar

if you are running an amp that is supposedly pushing out 800 watts i would reccomend using 4 gauge cable with an agu fuse holder most kits for 600-1000 watts will come with this. what sort of amp are you using? will you be adding more than one amp? if so then 4 gauge is the way to go then use a power distribution block and you can add your other amp....hope this helps
I've never liked any of the kits I've seen. I'd recommend finding the parts you need/want separately. You'll get exactly what you need and probably with better quality. I do suggest www.partsexpress.com. They have everything you need at a good price but don't forget to compare locally.
You can buy a new batter terminal end but I noticed there's a junction box just after the battery connection that provides and excellent place to get power from with just a ring connector. I definately suggest either an inline fuse or circuit breaker as close to the battery as possible. I use a circuit breaker because it is easy to shut the power off to the system and if you do something stupid it just has to be reset. 4 guage wire should do fine. If you plan on adding several more amps or going for more power later you may want to go ahead and go thicker so it will be there later.
Good luck!

I own an car stero and preformance store in Baton Rouge LA
I can honestly tell you that if you want a quality kit just go 2 wal-mart and get a 4 guage amp kit if you have no audio stores in your area they are good qualiy and have good connectors and comes with more than you need to get a good job done. also 800 watts is great thats what I have in my XB now on 10" ported box and it will slam even with the factory deck. lasty even if the amp may pull less watts the 4 gauge will ensure that the amp make all the power it can you will have less chance of melting the amp wire especally by the fuse and it will leave you plenty of room to up grade to a larger amp or multiple amps with out having to rip it out and replace it with a 4 gauge later.

Well guys,
I went to walmart this weekend and got the 4 gauge wiring kit. Thank you everyone for your help and your responses.
It is a great Kit for a great price. It comes with a 100W in-line fuse, 2 RCA cables, power distributor (1 4Gauge 2 8Gauge), ground cable and remote cable. you can't beat all of that for only 28 Bucks!
Thank you guys!!
PS: I ended up only putting a 250 Kenwood AMP but like many said I wount have to upgrade and redo my cableing when I get the other higher amp and connect my Carputer and LCD. Thanks!
