I'm doing that this afternoon...just need to pick up a switch for the glovebox at radioshack so when it opens, The LED comes on and turns off when shut. (This would be a NO switch - normally open push switch).

That's simple enough, but I also wanted to to the engine bay to light with LEDS with the hood being opened. Any all weather switches? Junkyard maybe?

Anyway...was just wondering is anyone else did this?

 

i think its called a single pull single throw switch. (SPST) or something similar to that.

 

A hood pin switch (auto alarm style) might work.

pin switch would work great.
when its open, it connects ground
(just in case you didnt know)

you can pick one up from an audio place for like $10
