Default Does your aftermarket radio dim when the lights are on?

Just want to know if your aftermarket radio dims when you turn the lights on? I recently installed a deck in my tC and the dimmer function doesnt work. Just curious if something could be wired wrong or if I'm not alone. List your radio and yes or no dim. Thanks

my JVC does. are you sure your radio is supposed to dim? does it have a dimmer wire on the back, most likely Orange/White or Orange? I know these are dumb questions but sometimes you have to ask.

some radios you have to go into a menu to allow the radio to dim.

they really aren't dumb questions =)
some radios don't have dimmer wires, and some aren't hooked up...

Its a Pioneer Premier 8mp and it has the dimmer function. Its shut off by default, but I turned it on and it still doesnt dim.. time to pull the dash apart. I've got the metrakit with metra wiring harness. Maybe somethings in the wrong spot on their.

at least you are using good stuff. I believe the Pioneer has an orange/white wire for illumination and the harness should have an orange/white wire also. depending on how old the harness is there was an orange/black wire in the smaller 6-way connector WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT USE. maybe something came unhooked.
