got my system all hooked up and the output of the subs is weak as hell. im using a kenwood that has speaker level inputs. we just tapped into the rear speakers. is this signal too weak or are we just wiring it wrong? any input would help. thanks

Does your amp have any level controls? If so, start there by turning up the volume. Seems simple, but it happens to the best of us.

Does your amp have RCA inputs as well? If so, you may try making a cable going from your tapped speaker wire to an RCA end. The RCA input is more sensitive and will amplify the signal more than the speaker level input. It's not the best way, but it will do the trick.

Did you disconnect the rear speakers? If not, their low impedance way be diverting the power required to run the amp on the speaker level inputs...

Not that I'm any kind of expert, but impedance mismatches can cause lots of problems...

I have my Bazooka amp and subs hooked up thru the rear speakers. I used the Tsunami RCA Line Output Converter in the install. Works great. You should try switching around the RCA inputs in the amp. If you have right going to left or visa versa it may not work right. Always check and recheck all wiring to make sure everything is connected properly.

dont let yourself get too frustrated!

Get a Line Output Converter. Any reputable stereo shop will have them. It will lessen your speaker output to a level designed for RCA cables. Tends to work better than speaker level inputs.
