ATTENTION Sound deaden'd scion owners...
Just out of curiousity how do you intall this stuff. Take the door for example. I am assuming it is a sheet that has to be stuck/glued. Would you just take the door panel off then cut the sheet to shape and cut the proper holes for the door mechanisms then stick it?
Yep, I only added 31 lbs. with all I've installed.
Dynamat Extreme = 1.80 lb. per sheet, 9 sheets installed
Extremeliner = 1.50 lb. per sheet, 3 sheets installed
1 gallon of eDead = 10 lbs. per gallon
I would also highly recommend doing the roof if you can. I'm not able to due to my sunroof--a whole new headliner was professionally installed, and cannot really be removed. It will help with wind noise and accoustics quite a bit, but probably not affect road noise much...
I'd rather have a quiet car and lose 0.005 off my 1/4 mile than have a loud and obnoxious ride, which is still slow...besides, if I really cared about weight I'd diet and get a carbon fiber hood/hatch.
Most people only apply sound deadener behind/around speakers to improve their accoustics.
I'd do the floor and also try to concentrate around the wheel wells. That should get rid of any road noise and noise from the tires.
It'd add about 50lbs.
Well, if you remove your door panel you'll see how difficult it would be to apply a sheet form on the back of the panel, or to the door itself. It could be done, but I personally opted to paint on a gallon of the liquid sound deadener (eDead v.3) on the back of the plastic panels, and then put the sheet stuff on the door itself anywhere I could...

Why would you deaden the doors, but not the floor? The floor has got to be real easy and probably makes a nice difference.
question: for my tC, in order to get rid of the road noise, what's the first place Ishould deaden, floor, door, trunk, or wheel wells?
my question is how much weight would a fully deadened xb add? i'm talkin single layer floor , roof , doofs , hatch.

I got my dynamat extreme installed on the front doors today. Its so cool how if u tap the rear doors which arent dynamatted, then u tap the front doors and it sounds solid as a rock. Best buy installed for $26 and they did a really nice job.
look up second skin and purchase the 5 gallon bucket of spectrum liqiud deadener...i put 5 gallons of it in my box and i have absolutely no rattles or buzzes even i have it turned up...its pertty funny watching my roof flex about 1/8"-1/4" with out buzzing and rattling
prices i belive was around 285 shipped and it took 2 days to gut and install it
put some sound deadener on the floor then lay 1/4" or 3/8" carpet padding down to kill road noise
