Default auto dimming mirror

Hey y'all, I'm wondering if the Auto Dimming mirror which is an accessory with the tC and xA would work on the xB with little or no modification.

I am thinking it should work, but I'm not spending the $$ until I know for sure.

I'm not totally sure the issue would happen on the xB or not, but when I tinted my windows on my IS300 it totally defeated the auto-dim feature on my review mirror due to the lesser intense light coming through the rear window.... Again, I'm not sure this would be an issue or not, but I know I wouldn't waste my money to find out it didn't work.

The mirror on the xB mounts to the roof, the tC and xA mirror mount to the windshield. I know someone put one on an xB here. Might try to find out how he did it...

I am interested in that mirror too. Mainly for the built in map lights to help make up for the underpowered dome light.

I am so very much going to get one as well. I have had them in my chevy z71 and now my avalanche so it drives me nuts to drive my xB and not have that and the temp guage.

Here is a link to where I was looking at them, it at least shows you all the models you can get and a idea of the price and mounting.

I have the autodim mirror. It also has the Homelink, Compass, Outdoor Temp, and Map Lights. It was easy, just put it on the windshield (the mirror being physically lower helped give me a better perspective).

I have an autodimming mirror chillin' out in my basement waiting for a windshield button mount thing. I'm eventually going to bring it to an auto glass shop and have a button put on the windshield.

Couldn't you just use some double sided tape?

No the double side tape willn't hold up to the wt nor the direct sun light.

Hmm, cause I've seen em installed without the button thingy on the windshield.

What power requirements does it have and did you tap at the dome light?

After removing the stock mirror what treatment was used to cover up the space where the old mirror used to be?

Looks great!
2 Q's:
Can it mount to the original mirror mounting point? If I made a new arm/mount?
How hard to dress the wires under the front of the headliner? Is it a difficult install?

Thanks!
