How hard to dress the wires under the front of the headliner? Is it a difficult install?

Thanks!
you can try to make a mount from the stock location but with the mirror I bought, it came with the arms already and is to be mounted on the windshield. I first used double sided tape to mount the mirror but 2 times it fell off. So I went with the windshield glue and that sucker is on there TIGHT!

to run the wires was a breeze, I though it was gonna be hard but all I did was unclip the 2 front pillar covers and the head liner just pulls down easily. (Make sure your oem mirror is off first!)

I ran the temperature module wires from the passenger side up the pillar and into the headliner to where the mirror is and the power from the driver side and tapped into the fuse box. What I did was that I broke apart a used fuse and use one pin for the power wire so I can insert it to the fuse block.

The hardest part was to figure out where to mount the tempeture module without taking the bumper off.

other than that it took me less than 2 hours.

hope this helps

Definitely nice. I was going to go with one, but figured the whole tinting the windows thing would make it useless. I just wish there were auto dimming mirrors for the side mirrors, i'm tired of getting blinded by trucks.

Thanks MicroVan!

Contemplating a temp/compass/lighted one. Really miss that from my Sequoia! I think that I can fab an arm that adapts the stock mount location with the new mirror. Probably CNC billet or custom one-off hand made.

Those are a little wider than the puny stock mirror. Did it help the view at all? I find that I cannot see the entire width of the rear glass without panning my head side to side.

Ordered the 50-GENK-31 last nite. Comp/temp/map lites.

Did you remount the mirror higher on your glass? Looks like the base is up against the h/l in the new pic. Also is that antenna thingie part of the mirror works?

I like the mirror mounted higher, if thats the case.

I did not mount the mirror higher on the glass. what you see is the antenna for my Clifford alram. (the black box above the mirror with the antennas coming out on each side.)

I actually mounted the mirror right below the dotted part of the windshiled. had to use windsheid glue since the double sided tape mounts keep falling off. happened twice so I got some mirror mount glue and glue the sucker on.

hope this helps.

Heres a link to my install:

This seller had mirrors starting from $100.

After using this for a few days, I can say it is convenient. As far as tint defeating the dimming, it does not in my case. It does take more light to dim it, since it is based on a set value of brightness to hit the sensor. Does not dim as often as it might with clear glass in a sedan, as it takes a brighter light to achieve this through the rear tint.

The compass is accurate as compared with my Garmin C-330. The temp is a novelty, at least here in SoCal but could prove very useful in areas (frost alert/bragging rights) where it actually gets cold.

I am designing a polished aluminum mount to cover the existing mirror holes. I have an extra bB grill emblem that I am planning to fit into the new bracket.

Pics upon completion!
