Bass blocker help
It should make no difference which lead. Sound is transmitted via AC power to your speakers. I am guessing the product you are speaking of is a capacitor. A capacitor will pass high frequencies easier than low frequencies. The cutoff frequency is dependent on the reactance of the capacitor at various frequencies.. which is directly dependent on its size (which is why they work to prevent light flickering in high power applications). You should be able to place them on either lead. There technically is no positive or negative lead on a set of speakers. It is all relative to the other components in the system.

Bass blockers need to be installed on the Positive wire. It is basically a capacitor that blocks the low frequencies from small speakers. I have 200hz blockers on my Pioneer 4 inch 2-ways. They will block the lowest frequencies from these small speakers so the low bass doesn't blow them.
Its basically a filter that filters out the low frequencies from coming out of your speakers, it just allows pretty much the mids and highs coming out which in turn keeps the music clean and crisp coming out of your door speakers per say leaving the bass to come out of woofers etc. Heres just a quick link i found for example to some from lightning audio
