Default Basslink turns off after 5-10 minutes

Hi, I just installed my basslink with 8 gauge wire and whenever I use it, even if the bass is low, the sub shuts off after a few minutes. 15 or so minutes later it will turn off and then will turn off again in a lil bit. Anyone with a basslink have this problem or know how to fix it. Do you thing I should run a 4 gauge wire?

8GA should be fine, but i'll bet your grounding point is crappy.. clean some of the paint away and you should be good to go.

I have the Basslink T (pic in link below) running on a 8ga wire, but never had that problem. You can also check to see if you auto-on wire is ok and not frayed or anything. Are you using a stock H/U or aftermarket?

The basslink and basslink t have a built in amp, so all connections go straight to the unit.

ditto on the ground wire. maybe its not tightened all the way down or the installer didn't scuff enough paint to make a good ground point.

Default k

thanks for the replies. I looked where I grounded it and there is paint there. I will sand it off tonight and hopefully that will work. Although before the unit powered, and now it doesn't even turn on.
