Default Bazooka Sub Install Help!

Ok... I ordered the sub for my tC from mcgeorge. I finally got around to putting it in today, and all in all, things went pretty good. You have to essentially remove everything in the car from the trunk all the way up across the passenger's side and into the dash, so it is a fairly involved process. The only problem I had is when it was all hooked up and wired, the damn thing doesn't work - no sound comes out.

The manual only has the most basic of troubleshooting info. The thing is there is a little green LED on the sub, which is lit, so I know it's getting power. The manual says that if the LED is on but no sound comes out, one or more of the speaker wires is disconnected. I'm not sure exactly how that works as all 6 speakers are working, but I guess it means that somewhere between where the leads from the sub come in at the deck and the sub itself something is wrong? Anyone have any ideas of what to test? This is really killing me...

Thanks in advance...

This has me even more confounded because it's not like it's a switch or something where I could just get a multimeter and check for some power one the wire - does anyone have any idea what wires I would check? The install instructions (which I can post if someone wants to look) have the pinouts at the end, but I have no idea what wires I'd check and what I'd be checking for, you know?

anyways, keep the thoughts coming

Ok... I'm using the actual Vehicle Specific Enclosure for the tC, so it includes the following:
1. A prebuilt harness with grounding that plugs into the deck on one side (the stock stereo plug daisy chains through it) and the enclosure on the other - both molex connectors.
2. A "box" which fits right into the side of the trunk with a molex connector on the back of it for the wiring harness. Inside it has it's own amp, and on the front of it is a 10" bazooka woofer.

So I guess I'm using speaker level input, but I'm just using the prebuilt harnesses. Now I know something is working because the LED on the box is illuminated, so at least the harness is passing some power, but maybe one or more of the speaker wires in the harness is broken, or maybe the amp is broken, or maybe the wiring between the harness and the sub is broken? I don't know how I'd go about checking any of that. The instructions have the pinouts on both the stereo and sub side, if that would help I can post them.

Thanks!

Disclaimer * The only way your problem will be solved is if we cover everything throughly.

So if this seems like a stupid question.. then at least we have this ruled out.

Are you sure the sub isn't working ?

Did you have the volume turned up when testing ? Did the music you were testing with have bass ?

Depending on the amp thats included the sub might not make any noise when listening are reasonable levels.

I'm into going over everything. I'll say at this point that I'm 99% sure it isn't working. The music had bass, I turned the head until up to 5 and then I balanced it all the way into the back. I'll go back to my car tonight and try it again. I'll turn it up even louder and make sure I pump something bassy. Do you know if the SSP profiles (hear and feel vs. neutral) are sent to the sub the same way? I know that they both have MUCH more bass in the rest of the speakers than the neutral profile does.

Ok - I think I got it figured out. I didn't have time to do more testing, but it looks like one of the pins in one of the harnesses was loose or disconnected. I took them both out, checked them, and plugged them both in and it's working now!

Thanks for the help - I know it's always something small, but it gets discouraging after you tear apart your new car and you can't make things work. Thanks for keeping it bearable.

That is a common prob with Bazooka tubes too. Everyone watch for that.
