Ha, that ^^^ is funny. I think, that for what you pay for, the Bazooka is just fine. I have, on many occasions, played my Tube for some hard core SUB peeps, and they are always blown away.
Always. It's that good. Solid, and also, if you upgrade the stock speakers, a great way to add lows.
NOW, if you want to shake the pavement, then no. It's not worth it.

for regular Dave Matthews listening at a moderate to loud level it will sound great......but for loud rock,metal,rap..forget it....the sub and speakers will distort fairly easily under that kind of use....

They will distort? Really? Funny. Mine does not. And I listen to all that you mentioned, at a high volume from time to time.
Guess it must vary from Bazooka to Bazooka.
mine plays fear factory just fine, no distortion and loud as hell... but i would stay away from the bazooka tubes that are at the scion dealership, theyre the cheap versions, bazooka makes better ones than that for less than dealership prices...
When you get a bazooka tube from the factory does it have an internal amp, or does it run strictly off of the power from the head unit?
Also, is the car wired for the stock bazooka already or would I have to run cable up to the HU for it?

if you buy from bazooka, or any other place, (best buy, circuit city, ebay) you have different types of speakers to choose from, passive or active... passive is like what i have, where you need an external amp, and active has a built in amp... and no, its not wired for any subs, you have to get the little adapter for it, i used something else, forget the name of it, but it splices into the speaker line and turns the high output into low so you can connect it to an amp... either way, you will need that... prolly best thing to do is look around and find a store locally and see if they offer free installation with purchase, some place have specials or offers like that... i have the RS dual voice coil series, better sound and performance...
just found this on Ebay its the adapter to hook up an amp to the HU...

seriously, for over $500, the bazooka sux. if u can get it for like $200 or $250, then it's fine i guess. i bought the sub online and then took out the bazooka woofer and placed a kicker sub in the enclosure. much much better. they have the bazooka enclosure for $275 on ebay. the sub cost me like $100. that's still only $375.
i got all my stuff off of ebay, i think i paid $150 for both of the RS-8" dual voice coils brand new (i got really lucky)... there not earth shakers, but they do sound good, at least mine do... like yellot00tr said, take the speaker out and put in a better one will make a difference, but so far, mine have been sounding really good... if youre looking for something to go thump really loud and listen to alot of stuff with heavy bass lines, like rap, i dont recomend the tubes, there are better speakers out there for the same price, but i listen to alot of punk and metal and i dont have the bass turned up at all, i just have it where it adds just a little punch to it, ok i lie, i play them hard sometimes, depends on the song...
