Default bBist gauge overlay help(yes I did search) lol now with pics

The gauge face works and all the needles have been reset. No problems there.
The issue I am having is that when I turn the lights on the whole gauge face lights up. If you see the pictures of the gauge online at night with the lights on the whole gauge is dark except the numbers and the lower two needles.

My gauge the whole thing lights up. I've done searches on google and every other website I could think of and I came up with nothing. I already emailed bBist and I am still awaiting a reply.

I was hoping someone else ran into the same problem and was able to fix it.

Wiring wise, I have it set up like so.

Power- the harness that connects to the gauge/instrument panel, I used the green wire, pin number 26. Which, from what electrical diagrams I have on the car, is connected to the combination switch (headlight switch).

Ground- is located at the passenger kickpanel. I'm pretty sure it's not the ground. lol

Other wise the gauge works great. The colors change, the dimmer works, I get the annoying whine from the inverter, lol.

Anyone out there know of the problem and hopefully the fix? I know there was atleast one other person with this problem. At least the gauge works. lol

I hope someone out there knows something.

comes with a switch and dimmer but it's supposed to look like the one on top not the one on the bottom. It's a EL reverse gauge. poo

It kind of looks like the negative of a photograph. Everything is backwards. The parts that are lighting up, AREN'T. And the parts that don't light up, ARE. Anyone else see this?

Nah I want to leave the leds behind the gauge face stock. I already did all the other lights in blue. The gauge face is an EL reverse glow gauge, so it's supposed to illuminate the numbers and make the background dark. Honestly I tried to logically figure this one out. However I don't know enough about how the inverter works to even try to mess with this thing. I'm pretty much waiting for a reply from bBist, but as far as I can tell he's MIA.

Thanks for the help though. It looks great to me either way, I just wanted it to be the way it's supposed to be, guess I can't win. lol

lol, misunderstanding. I don't think they would know about inverters and such. Then again it wouldn't hurt to try. Thanks.

uhh... hmm... there's only wires that power the gauge face up.

unless bBist has two types of the gauge faces.. i'm not sure what the deal is for your face... perhaps there is something that's supposed to cover up the parts that you think are supposed to be black..

as a whole, EL sheet is going to light up when engergized... different parts of it that aren't are usually seperated or covered up.

hmm... would have to talk to steve about exactly what is wrong if there is anything wrong..
and/or look at my buddie's bBist gaugefaces too....

perhaps what you have is really what it's supposed to be.

in a way that kinda sucks cause I wanted the dark reverse lookin gauge, on the other hand I hear when it's like that it's hard to read. lol what a dilemma. I thought I might have wired it wrong but red means positive and black mean ground/negative. The only thing I can think of is maybe the inverter is bad, or I got stiffed with a fake version. poo. lol. oh well, I might as well just turn in the towel and go back to modifying cellphones and models. I'm no good at this car thing. lol

yeah.. just called steve up.. there's really no way to mess up two wires.. lol...

but he said if it's not what's on the site.. then you can give him a call and he'll take care of you

if you don't have his number.. shoot me a pm.. but he should have it in his sig..

also... he said there may be imitations/fakes ones out there... so as long as you purchased from him.. you're fine.

if not.... ...

I emailed him earlier, I did get it from scionsport.com. I was under the assumption that they were getting it from bBist himself. I'm probably screwed lol. I suppose I'll try to call him tomorrow. Being on the east coast makes it hard for me to get my west coast times right. I thought he was MIA I haven't seen him post a thing on any sites for a while.

ohh.. i don't know.. bBist does have retailers out there... so perhaps you're safe.

yeah. he's been busy working.. but you can call him right now if you want.. it's only 5:55 over here.. minus 3 hours from the east coast.

ehh.. i don't care giving it out. like i said.. he has it posted in his sig.
