Default best HID kit for the tC

well boys n girls, its time to get HIDs, i have a couple options..mainly looking at Mccullohs or Hella, of course hella is probably better, but obvoiusly more expensive...any suggestions on what to go with, from past experiences or just stories you've heard? any advice would help! thanks!

One of the few things about hid I dont understand is . They say the tC headlight housing is not designed for hid . In a way I can believe that . But I also know and this is mearly example , The GS 300 has regular halogen bulbs in it , but the GS 430 has the same designed relfector and all but has hid (models previous to the new updated designed GS) . Also another example is the Prius , I have seen that model come with regular halogen bulbs and hid bulbs but the housing is the same . Now focusing on previous discussions , they say one bulb housing is designed for a certain bulb and not the other . I guess what I am tryin to get to is , How can it be that the tC isnt designed for hid but these other vehicles that carry the standard halogen bulb and take hid as well and the tC can not . I have read articles that say bulb placement as well as orientation to the glare gard (chrome piece that covers bulb in housing for those not familar with the term) affects the overal beam patern . So why isnt there a bulb with the proper base that will plug into the tC housing properly and orientate the bulb so there isnt glare ? Also for those with glare I have also heard of adjusting the aim of the housings so they are aimed more at the ground so not to blind oncoming traffic with glare , Does this work . In all honest opinions this seems to be a pretty frequent question and post . I feel there shoudl be a HID sticky posted in the Drag Coefi column but thts just my suggestion .

the prius halogen and hid reflector is not the same. the housing may look the same, but the reflector bowl inside is not. All OEM manufactuers are now ditching the reflector HID in favor of projectors. the only reason D2R bulbs existed was mercedes didn't want to redesign for projectors when HID lighting got started.

you will always have glare with reflector based HID, just like the 02-03 maxima, is300, and the prius. even though the manufactuers designed the bowl to reduce glare, glare still exist but is not as bad as any joe schmoe that puts a kit in his car. infact the glare from hid kits in halogen housings are so bad all HID kits are banned for sale in the US by the NHTSA. it is actually illegal now to sell hid kits. people still sell them because well, jay-walking is also illegal.

i had a 6000k hid kit in my tc for a month then the ballast died for no reason. then i found out about www.hidplanet.com/forums and started learning about real HID setups. the 6000k kit was definately an improvement over the 9006 halogens, but pales in comparison with the tsx retrofit that i now have in my maxima.

nope, no glare from s2000 projectors. they're among the best projector available and have the sharpest cutoff line. however, they're about $330 for just the projectors.

ive seen a few tCs with HID rolling around and they dont seem to have too much of a problem with glare. The tCs cutoff seems fairly sharp for a halogen reflector.

i Personally Have 8000k, but the brand i have is CA-SUNSHINE Inc. I'm sponsored by blinglights, can check their website for great deals on any temp. you want. They look great with my car, had imagineaudio install it, personally vimean aka. oneslowxa which did a great job, no wire or ballast showing anywhere the eye can see. The quality is great, service is great, and warranty on the product is great too. If anyone or you yourself plans to get HIDS, try out blinglights.com and contact Jason Manus, and tell them that i refered you, i'm sure they'll give you good deals.

going with a 6000k bulb only takes away from the Brightness, if u want White with a purple tone to it, get the Valeo package, the len's show off a purple tone once the bulbs burn past a 200 hour's

going higher like 1200k only makes the light output worse
