Best Place to Run Amp Wire
Can someone tell me where is the best place to run a AMP Power wire thru the fire wall, I have been looking on the R/H side where the Main harness goes into fire wall, there is a big rubber plug there and there looks like there is two nipples that could be cut to pass a wire thru there, has anybody used this to pass there AMP wire thru.
Thanks,
Erik

either side is fine, but be patient! I ran mine through the drivers side because of my set up. take your time and it will work out.
Make sure you go through the grommett (or rubber boot) and then seal up the hole with silicon sealant.

The right side can be used but access from the inside to pull the wire on thru is annoying (I ran alarm and engine bay lighting thru these. The main harness rubber boot in front of the driver is the best choice I think to run in amp wires. The boot is big, a small slit can be made and very large wire run thru with very little trouble. Access from the inside is good. The wire run may be shorter (depends on where amp is located) and you also do not need to string as much wire in the engine bay between the battery and the firewall. After the wire is run seal around it with a dab of clear silicon sealer as a leak precaution (do this on either side). My car and many others mount their main power wire fuse (make sure to get a waterprooof one) using the unused welded nut on the strut tower about 4 inches behind the battery, making for a clean secure installation. If you carefully cut away a little of the red plastic positive post cover to clear your new amp wire you can close the cover again after you are done and the install from there to mounted fuse and on into the drivers side harness boot looks like a factory level install
Terrible Ted is right on. I found some pics when I was running my power wire. Please note i did seal the wire up after i took the pic. Hope it helps.
And yes, I did screw the fuse block to the top of the fuse box. I cut the screws short and made sure that they would not hit anything. looks great and factory looking.
