JL, Image Dynamics, Elemental designs, Audiobahn, MA Audio. What are you going for? SQ or SPL? There are a few others.

Hey Dave

What kind of amp do you have and how much space are you willing to give up?
Also what kind of system to you want to have when you are done? There are many different ways to go, but it should be easy to figure out. Hope I can help

it would still be nice to know what power the amps are putting out.

Another important factor is going to be whether you are looking for sound quality of SPL. That makes a big differance.

If you want SQ then you arent going to want to look at Kicker or brands like that.

What type of music you you listen too? This can determine the type of box you want etc...

This info will help all of us help you.

hmmm i like the subs with the XBL^2 motor structure. like adire, and resonant engineering uses. too bad the XXX is going to be underredesign for the next 2 month or i would recommend one of those. jl is overpriced. period. I personally use an IDMAX

That seems backwards. If I had those amp I would bridge the 2 channel for the subs and use the four channel to run the mid and highs. Unless it a really small 2 channel.
Either way without knowing which amps you have it is hard to recomend the right sub.

Again without know what amps a good all around woofer to use would be a Memphis PR104 (10")or PR124(12)". They come in single and dual coil to help match what your amp needs. They also have a three year warranty. They will hit hard and sound good.

For some reason, I feel the need to post after those two, but suggesting eD

What amp are you using/what music do you listen to/how much space you willing to give up?

These are important questions

I love audiobahn, had JL's and they were excellent...but costly. I'd say go with a dual 4-ohm 12" from audiobahn because you can wire it down to 2-ohm mono and get a lot more power if you can bridge your amp as well. They have great sound and really thump when you get them going. (IMO of course )

i agree with boom12v - dont you have your amp setup backwards? I have a 12" alpine type-r. It hits for a single sub. I want to still be able to hear my music though, considering i had 2 12" Sony P5s in my old car and they were crazy loud, but weren't clear whatsoever. Diamond audio, rainbow audio, Mmatt - if you want really nice subs. I don't know about elemental designs, but all i've heard is good things. Mid price- Rockfard fosgates top line, alpine, jl audio, polk momo, memphis is really nice also (some go into the top price range). I won't recommend anything under audiobahn. I've heard them, wouldn't through the money into them though.
