Default Box sugestion for Alpine type X

I just bought a new Alpine Type x (12") and was wondering if anyone has ever had experience with these and if a low tuned ported box or sealed box would be the best. They would both be proffesionaly built and built to specs. Thanks!

also depends on what type of music you listen to, rock go with sealed, hip hop go with ported, also what amp will you be running?

that zx750 will be more than enough for a long time that thing puts out some RMS, go with the ported box you will be happier, youll loose more trunk but itll sound better that alpine needs to breathe

I have always looked at it this way. Ported boxes are made to make it seem there is more space for the sub than there actually is. If the sub is not to specs or "too small" then i would go ported also if you are underpowering the sub with a ported box you should get a lower more spread out bass hit. With a sealed box the hit is more tight and direct seeming. This may not make sense haha but I had a Type X in my trailblazer a few years back and it was a smaller than spec and ported with a MRD-M1005 alpine amp and it literally would choke you if you had the windows up.

The amp is designed to run at 750RMS and when bult , they test the amp and read the output and most often the amp will run at higher RMS than what they are selling it as. Some manufactures are known for their amps to run WAY higher than what they are being sold as ie: Soundstream, Kicker, Boston....

I have just purchased a 2010 xB with the Alpine NAV unit and trying to find instructions on how to remove it to install a sub and amp. Can anyone help me?

now make sure you cant give full juice to the sub from begining. because your voice coil need to be break in. or else any sub will blow. you have to break the sub in order to give full power to it. so play nice and low for a about week and turn the gain up a little. well on amp you have to read it carefully. is your amp rated at 12v? or 14v? if you dont have power source taken care of you will most likely will not get 14.4v. so look in to it. if it is 12v and unregulated most of the old amp plus high end new ones. it will produce more power than what it says about spec.
