?? can subs fire up??

with a hard hitting sub like a w7 or an l7 its not good to fire them twords any thing like the ground or the back of a seat becoues there pushing with so much force it can a. either hit the thing it pointed to and damege the sub or b. make to much pressure in that space that its forcing the sub to not flex and damage it like that i have had both happen to l5's that i have had and its not good

well...i doesnt matter what direction they fire...if they are in a tight space and are fireing towards something it can hurt the sub. but u only need to worry about that if its a really powerful sub

It's best to build the enclosure (box) to the factory specs., leaving adequet space for ventilation on the back plate and room for the excursion and the pressure. Front, back, side to side, shouldnt matter a bit.
If it matters, its best to fire up or down that way it will keep the voice aligned with the t-yoke.

Firing back towards the rear generally is the best way to go. It lets the sound waves travel farther and build up. Of course, if you can then play around with all types of positions for your particular car/installation.

i think hes talking about the mechanics of the sub but since you are on the topic of which way to fire the sub, here are some very good guidelines.
