Car Audio Guys Please Help A Brotha Out
Allright guys askin 4 some help. My problem is I have some pioneer 3-ways iwant to install in the front and rear. They are 6.5 (model #TS-a631P) I have read from searching that I can use the front stock location. If someone can expound upon this i would be gratefull. As far as the back goes I guess my option is to make them of mdf, I think i can buy that at home depot right? How would I detirmine what it looks like trace the stock speker the new one? Iam also going to do the dash but that lloks wicked easy. And as far as hooking up to stock wiring a, I correct in thinking that I can just buy ends for the wire splice em and hook up?
Thanks for reading sorry long post.

After glancing at your post it looks like you got things set. Only thing I would be concerned about is the rear speakers. I haven't personally installed 6.5 back there. I know you can. How others have done it I am not sure. MDF is one method if there is room. Else you may have to just cut the metal hole larger to fit the larger speaker.

I just cut a hole big enough to fit my 6.5's there. You can also mount them to the plastic, and just cut a hole through that rather than having them behind the plastic, but you might get rattles from that.

For the fronts I recommend cutting a baffle from plywood. I suggest plywood over MDF because it's not as suceptible to moisture problems. Make sure you paint whatever you make to protect it from moisture. Here's a pic of the plate I used in my car before I painted it.
I haven't done my rears but depending on the design of the speaker you may be able to cut a ring (plywood or MDF) to fit the speaker that will fit around the front of the stock hole. If the speaker has the right taper that ring will give you a mount for the speaker that will give you enough clearance for the speaker to taper into the factory hole. I think there is enough space to do that without the plastic rear panel hitting the speaker.

I just called a local car audio shop and he told me half inch spacers screwd into factoroy spots in rear would work. Chad the baffle you showed me is that in essence what the car audio shop will sell me?
