Default CD Player Text button question

Anyone here know how to make the song's title/band title show up when you click the Text button on the CD Player? Or if that's possible... or even wth it's for? lol

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

The only time the titles show up on mine is when I'm playing a mp3 cd. Just push the "text" button and it will show the title. :D

And it works for the XM part as well. I would have thought it would have worked on the CD'S, but alas, and verily, alack, nay.

Sorry. In a Bard state of mine.

i know that when i use nero to burn songs to a cd you can add the cd title and the title of the band. i'm pretty sure all you have to do is name the songs if they arn't already titled. all my burnt cd's display the bands name, cd title and titles of all the songs. and no they arn't all mp3 cds

Any examples? I have like about 2,000 CD's, and I don't want to have to go through all of them to find those.

None are burned. All store bought.

Yeah, I'm old school.

The cd text is a newer feature of cds. I'm not 100%, but you're probably just going to have to pop it in to find out whether or not it's supported. Has anyone seen "CD Text Enabled" or anything like that on any of their cds? I have not.

What you could do is rip a cd using a ripper that supports cddb, which will automatically find the names of the cds and tracks and save them that way. Then you can reburn it and it'll have the title. But if you're going through that trouble, you may as well burn an mp3 cd and put a dozen or so albums on the one disc.

Yeah. When I use my CPU player, I get the titles all the time on my store bought discs. But I pop them into the BOX, and nothing. So it makes me wonder if the text thing only works with mP3's, and the like.
