I never cared for the blue-dotted upholstery in my tC and ending up buying silver instead of the black cherry because of it. I thought about going the leather route but the kits availalbe came in black only. Plus, without heated seats, I just did not want to deal with freezing cold butt in the winter.

When I heard about the 1.0 having red-dotted seats, I was ready to trade in. Then I saw the car. No offense to the owners out there, but red is just not a good color for the tC, especially with those graphite/black wheels, I have seen two of them on the road so far and both were less than shiny clean and they looked even worse . My silver seems to stay clean looking even when it is less than spotless.

I found someone who was putting leather in a 1.0 and sold their standard upholstery. It took me a couple days to get it switched out, but it looks FANTASTIC with my silver paint. I have always liked the silver/red combo and now I am happier than ever with the car, even with my rattles.

Now I need a red steering wheel. Why do they only make that accessory in gray? The red one looks nice on the xA so give me one for my tC.

Sorry about that. I just had to have them. One of the cars I was looking at before I bought the tC was a Mazda 3 and it came with red seats. A friend has the xA 1.0 and I love the red seats in her car and I have been watching eBay religiously for a set out of a tC 1.0.

The guy who sold them does upholstery and I emailed him about a custom leather set. Another friend has a SSM tC but wants leather. He likes the silver/red combo too and does not want to go with a boring solid black leather. He is hoping to come up with a black/red leather upholstery similar to the cloth. The red will be just in the center and perforated, with solid black on the sides.

If it can be done, I may switch to leather myself.
