Default Climate Control: xB?

Has anyone tried jury rigging a climate control unit up in an xB?

My last vehicle was German and I sure do miss my creature comforts!

i imagine he means some sort of device that would replace the *****, and basically be a thermocouple (digital thermometer) attached to a couple of servos and a microchip... so the temp would auto adjust when it was low or high. It would be real tough to do cheap much less make look decent

What I mean is ... how about getting a climate control unit out of a junker toyota that would either fit or could be fabricated into place where the stock unit is. What do you guys think?

While working on auto heating/air systems in the past. The auto climate control systems were always the first thing to go wrong on vehicles that had them. I'm glad we Don't have that crap. It was a freakin headache trying to diagnose them suckers when they went awry.
I've gotten good at finding just the right position for the temp selector **** on the first try.

I've been toying with the idea for almost a year now. I like the unit on the Hyundai Santa Fe. The controls should fit in the door for the storage compartment above the ash tray. Then the space used by the mechanical controls can be used for an in-dash nav system.

I haven't started 'cuz I'm buyin' a new house and all my money is committed to that now. My wife bought a $14,000 bed, can you believe that? And she said "no" when I wanted to spend
$16,000 for the lawn! www.easyturf.com

Anyway, I stray. The Santa Fe controls should work with some tinkering. You will need the servos to manipulate the cables.

Yeah, well when you live in a place that gets six inches of rain in a wet year and your monthly water bill is over $100, and that's without watering a lawn, authentic looking artificial turf that holds up to dogs, professional football and baseball and the PGA looks real good.

I think I'd just pave my lawn and have extra parking for that much.

That makes no sense at all. Someone has way too much money to burn if that is the case.

chill YES I wish I lived out there in cali. dude the humidity down here alone is enough to drive anyone mad. plus mosquitos, gnats, hurricanes always make life intersting in the fall. plus there isnt a mountain anywhere near here. I enjoy the bottom of north carolina on most of my vacations to find nice weather. but come on astro turf ? is that a common sight in yards and subdivisions over your way or were you kidding around ? at least you dont have to cut it. do you sweep that off when it gets dirty or wash it after the mud slides. I am sorry but it is just funny to think I could drive through a neighborhood and see astro turf laid out and bright green all year.
