Anyone figure out how to change the color of the nasty orange clock yet? I hate that color. Im thinking of putting electrical tape over it just so i dont have to look at it. Remember the nokia phones when you could put a hologram in your screen? I dont know how that works but maybe the same concept but a solid backround like blue or something. Any ideas help i will even be a guinea pig if need be.

 

i think it has small leds soldered to the circuit board like a cell phone display. If you were brave (i'm not) you could un-solder them and put a different color on there. But they are tiny!

 

i pulled it apart when i was doing the gauges. i pulled the whole screen out and it just looks like its backlite somehow.

 

where would buy the new face plate from? fry's?
