Default cruise control/light kits/lug pattern/fog lights etc

i'm purchasing a Thundercloud in the next couple days. I want the optional cruise control but i wanted to know if its available without going through the dealer. Is the plug and hardware factory installed? my dealer sells the unit for $549 installed.

Light kits...i'm opting for the light kits but http://www.randode.com/parts.html seem to be the better choice. Is this something in addition to the dealer installed or is it a complete unit in itself? I'd rather purchase his kits for much cheaper and better quality then from the dealer if this is the case. Can't beat the underseat and dash and hood for 180dollars.

Is the Scion XB lug pattern 4x100 like Honda? Is there a proper offset for the scion xb using a 17" rim? is it 42mm?

Fog light kit. Again...is the plugs there for the fog lights themselves and is the plug there behind the tab on the dash where i can just purchase them from somewhere else other then my initial car purchase?

tia

Anything's better than the factory light kits. One lousy LED shining down a tube... Randode's seem like a good setup, they'll definitely blow the factory setup away and still save you money. And he's a good guy to work with.

The foglights are easy, yes the wiring is there. Check the Tech Section for a step by step. Conicelli sells them for around $200. You may want to look for a JDM set if not too much more, the inside finish is better, like a real foglight...

It is a 4x100 pattern, check the wheel fitment chart in Tread and Butter forum for offsets, etc.

Can't help with the cruise control, but since it seems to only be a regional add-on and not a factory available one, my gut says the wirings not there, but I don't know.

Welcome and congrats on your TCM.

thanks for the interest in my lighting kits. my kit is designed to replace the dealer installed lighting kit, or can be installed by itself. several people on this forum have purchased kits from me. i'm sure some will post some positive feedback.

Default good to know

thank you for the fast reply

as far as the fog lights go...i did see the jdm's are clear and better illuminated. I think the tinted looks better on the TCM..but of course thats simply preference. Thank you for that.

Just and fyi about myself... this was my car at the bottom of the page...the gold integra http://www.todaracing.com/topics/project_cars.html which was also a normally aspirated vehicle that actually made it into 12/02's turbo and hytech performance magazine with a 9 page spread. So... i'm not new to imports what so ever...but i figured i'd put together a fun daily driver until in a couple years we figure out what fits in the engine bay.

thanks again.

I got the cruise control as an option for $350 dealer installed it's covered for the 3yr 36,000 mile warranty ,sounds like your dealer is trying to make a few bucks on it,I would talk your dealer down

Default i saw

i saw your cruse unit actually...or what i could find in searches here on the forums. the cruise unit they sell looks like its absolutely factory. it even looks like the stock headlight/turn signal arms. I'll take a photo at the dealer since i'm leaving a deposit tonight or so to get the car i want dealer traded. Yes...its over priced...no question. I'm going to see what i can do with the dealer customer speech.

My cruise was around $350 installed.

As for rims, I have a set of 16X8 rims from a civic (bought them, with new tires, for $500, to good to pass up). Had an offset of 38, they fit just fine.

Check out this post for more tire/rim setups.

You can install cathodes quite easily under the dash and seats for about $20 total and do under the hood for another $10. Hit up www.svc.com and look in their lighting section, then go into the positive voltage forum and look around..

Do you have a pic online? I am thinking of getting this same setup and I'd love to see it first.

thanks

I'll be taking some here in a day or two. I should have images up by this weekend. The rims are Enkei RP02's. Everyone has complimented them, most like them better then the 18's. Also, the larger tire makes for a better ride. It isn't as bouncy as the one I test drove (that one had the TRD 18's on it).

If you're not handy with electricity and don't enjoy laying on your back for long periods of time, spring for randy's cathode kit. I've heard good things about it.
