When you search use as many words as possible that are related and make sure the sure for ALL terms is selected. Took me a while to figure this out. Later!

Rostra.com makes a cruise control custom kit for Scions.

PART # 250-1755 - custom for Toyota Scion
http://www.rostra.com/cc-250-1755.asp

The accessories dealer that contracts with my Toyota/Scion dealer installed one of these kits in my xB. It costs about $245 including labor (I negotiated 'dealer pricing.')

I think the kit looks factory and the features are excellent! I like it better than the Toyota stock Cruise on my wife's Camry! RPM

Is this a new cruise control or something? I read about cruise control from Scion a while back when I was really interested in it. People with the cruise control were saying it looked cheap installed, real flimsy, and when you set the cruise it dropped about 5mph before setting in. Is this a new revised version?

Thanks!

The only reason I can see it dropped 5 mph before setting is they didn't take out the slack like it mentioned to in the instructions. I have this same cruise and I installed it myself and have had no issues.

This is the one I got from eBay.

Here's the thread that you are referring to:

Aftermarket Cruise Control performance lacking...

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=cruise+rostra

No, it's not new or a new revised version.

If you read the thread carefully you will see that the 'speed drop' issue was an isolated incident (probably due to an installation fault) and most all Rostra CC owners are very happy with the quality and performance of the kit (including me).

The thread goes on to debate whether steering wheel mounted RF (wireless) control is preferable to stalk mounted hard wired control.

Hope this helps. RPM

Ok, thanks for clearing that up RPM

How would you rate the install of the cruise control from ebay? Is this a Toyota product? The warranty makes it seem like so.

Thanks again!

The CC kit on ebay cited in Jmarks1998's post appears to be the Rostra kit. I say this because the cover of the instruction book in the ebay pic is the same as the Rostra book cover.

So no, not a Toyota product. It's the Rostra kit. RPM

Here is a pic of the cruise control stalk. I had no problems installing this. Anyone with any kind of technical know how should be able to do so as well. The instructions were very precise.

Very nice pic! I think I am going to have to pick one of these bad boys up before my next vegas trip. You don't have any problems with the system right? Have you noticed anything that you didn't like about it?

Just make sure you shorten the slack like it says in the instructions and you should be fine. I don't have any issues with mine. It took about 2 hours to install but that was potty breaks, lunch, and checking in on the baseball score.
