I might try that in the xB. The LEDs I used in my xA look great. They have a nice wide splash of light. But the LEDs I used in the xB are more focused. Instead of a wide splash, I have two round points of light about the size of a quarter.

The "super bright" LEDs from Ozium don't have that focused-beam thing, they iluminate the whole cup holder.

The first ones I tried were from AutoZone, they were weak and made a little red circle of light opposite the LED and that's about it. Def best to pop for the best LEDs you can...

Do you have pics boxer? I need to fix one of my LEDs and if it's worth it i'll just change them all out for ones that aren't as focused

I'll try to do some nite pix soon. I can tell you that they're like 10 times as bright as standard off-the-shelf LEDs I had, for real. They're significantly brighter than the cathodes under my dash even.

I'm trying to figure this out but I'm unsure, the xB has the same colored harness in the same general location? Blue/White wires and ladida plug everything up and it works? How about for the cathode lighting? Is there a similar harness in the area under the dash and/or seats? Thanks!

Something I found out today which is going to make me hold off on the cup lighting thing. ICELED is working on pinpoint three color LEDs. This means you can use one LED per cup and still get the two million (well, almost two million) colors in the cups. I haven't heard when they will be available but this is what I'm going to hold out for. I have already purchased some trons so a good complimenting color from the cup holders should really set off the interior. Probably do the vents at the same time.

Yeah I can see it now... orange feet with purple cups and vents. Feet fade to blue and cups/vents jam over to yellow to the beat of the music. Yummy. It doesn't get any better than that.

Okay, here it is for all xA and xB owners. Sorry tC guys, can't locate one for you.

The following is a PDF (Adobe Reader file) I found while searching for a facotry install job. Inside it will show you where that blue plug is and where the dealer drills the holes. This manual makes this DIY mod extremely easy.

how do you shave the top of the LEDs to make them flat? Im afraid of doing it and the LEDS not work. Also is there some kind of mark where they put the dealer LEDs?

Rough sandpaper has worked well for me in the past, and if you go too far, well LEDs are cheap.

There is a mark in there, which has been noted by a couple people already, and is shown on the Scion installation instructions.

Pepboys here in Houston sells the three LED lights for $4.99. The dealer wants like $225 installed for the cupholder illumination. Let's see: $4.99 vs. $225? Hmmm.

BUMPING this thread because it's an awesome find for the "do-it-yourselfers" even though I'm not a "do-it-yourselfer" haha!
