Default Dash speaker question

the speaker has 13 ohms?
what is the wattage?
anybody replaced those?
whats the best wattage and resistance(ohm) we can replace it with? still using the factory H/U and amp(if there is).
thanks for you input.

thanks!
I should have tested it first, lol! so the dash mounted spkr is a tweeter.
I work on a speaker co., I'll see if I can find a component spkr that would fit there from our sample.

Default dash speaker

I have just replaced the dash speakers with a pair of Memphis audio 4" speakers. These are 2-way speakers and fit just fine with a little modification of the speaker mounts (two out of the four mounts are used the other two need to be trimmed). This along with a previous replacement of the door speakers have made a huge difference in the sound quality with the stock headunit.

Just for your information

Sid, 4 inch speakers will fit fine up front in the dash. I also have fibreglass kick panels that house the Arc Audio mids, and have 6.5 inch Ground Zero co-axials in my doors.

thanks, yeah but can't find any 4" in our old samples here(don't want to spend). I'll have to wait if we get something in.
since the grille is off, i decided to cover it with grille cloth.

Id take that cloth off the grille. Reminds me of an old crusty early 90s GM dash speaker... ugh [shudders]
