deaden? dnyamat?
IF you mean eDead and Dynomat, then the biggest difference is price. Dynomat is one of the more expensive ones. There are other companies, such as fatmat, rammat, and a few others, also each one of the companies offer several different matting products for different situations. Liquid, butyl rubber, foam. . . ect. Otherwise do a search on sound dampening or sound deadning, there are about a bazillion "what's better", "how much do I need" questions. I also believe there are 2-3 walk throughs on the actual proccesses. Good luck!
From my experience, Dynamat Extreme is superior at eliminating exterior noise, preventing rattles, and reducing panel resonance. Unfortunately, it is VERY expensive in comparison to many other choices. In most cases, the cost is almost 2 to 1 for Dynamat versus their competitors. Dynamat Extreme is also a bit thicker than the rest and therefore, is more difficult to work with than the competitors. This thickness/density of their product is the reason it outperforms the rest.
From a cost perspective, I would recommend eDead v1se. EDead is very solid and does a very good job of reducing outside noise and panel resonance. It is half the cost of Dynamat Extreme and is much easier to work with. I have used several other competitors over the years as well, but am most satisfied with eDead due to its ease of work and the hold of its glue in hot temps.
If you have a HUGE bankroll and are not concerned with cost, then Dynamat is the choice for you due to its superior performance. If you are like the rest of us and cost plays a significant role, then go with eDead and double up layers in key locations like the doors!
I have 150 sq. ft. of eDead installed in my xB, but still need to drop the headliner to roll out a layer or two up top.
I hope this info helps you out.

There are mass loaders, which are the V1, SE, and V3, which add weight to the panel and reduce vibrations and resonance of the panel. This is effective at reducing road noise that is 250hz and lower.
The next sound deadener is v4, which is an adhesive backed closed cell foam, it does not absorb any moisture, so it will not mold. This reduces road noise as well, but in the 250hz and up range.
The ideal situation would be 1 layer of SE (I would use the SE 2)and 1 layer of V4.
If you are looking to keep cost to a minimum, i would suggest doing 1 layer of V4
Edead is priced right!
