Ok, one more shameless plug from me. You'll get it faster, cheaper, and the needles will not hit anything. The only thing mine don't do is light up neon blue.

Here is a question, How does someone go about designing there own gauge? Or is it one of those thing where if you have to ask you should even try?

I tried to design my own, but its actually a little harder than originally planned. So I just went with Chadfo, and for really cheap, I got mine in less than a week and was actually pretty involved in the design process. It looks very professional too. Shameless plug.

If you are familiar with using Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, you just need a scan of the original plate as a base of scale and make what you like.

So what do you print it on so the gauge actually lights up?

The guage is backlit with LEDs so almost anything you can print on can be used. Some things just look better than others. Photo paper works pretty good. I actually use a special plastic medium made specifically for backlit applications so it's allows more light to pass through than most other types of materials.

I've heard of this problem in another thread. I believe by using a fork to adjust the hight of the needle on it's post they were able to make it work fine. Go back and try messing with it some more and let me know what happens. I just ordered these from that same guy before i saw this thread. I'll let you know how long it takes for them to send it. They did send me an email saying they would be on holiday until January 2nd so i will start counting from then.
