Okay so just recently this started happening, when on door setting when i get out and lock the car the dome light dims to probably half the illumination opposed to the door actually being open. the door open light also goes out..... but the dome light will never go out. even replaced the dome light fixture.... no other problems other than just the door setting... any ideas?

 

Do you have anything else wired to the dome light?

 

Not only DO you, but HAVE YOU had anything else wired to the dome light circuit or the door switches?

Are you using a normal incandescent lamp or LEDs in the dome light fixture?

It sounds like either of two problems...

(1) There is a partial ground on the wiring between the Door Lock Control Relay behind the dash (under the speedo) and the dome light fixture, or
(2) The Door Lock Control Relay (actually a complex electronic control assembly) is defective.

Hopefully it is something you wired to or added on that lead from the DLCR, so that it is easy to find and cheap to fix. The DLCR is an expensive little box.

I have been having the same problem for a few months now. Can't seem to figure out what the heck is wrong.

 

I had wiring for puddle lights wired to the dome light. I noticed that the dome light would stay on at half brightness. I pulled the wiring to the dome light and now it's fine.

 

well guessing its the door lock control relay. nothing wired to my dome light only other thing wired is sirius to my sig lighter thats it. pulled the harness for it plugged it back in pulled fuse plugged it back in and no luck. found one in town at salvage for 39$. Probably wont get to it till next week due to busyness.
