Default Door Panel Hole Filling

(If this isn't in the right place, move move move!)

I surface mounted my tweeters on my door panel. Dumb.

I am going to either flush mount them in the door panels or put them in the stock spots. Not so dumb.

i now have screw/drill holes in my door panels. What do i use to fill them in? A friend told me that there's some sort of glop you can get that looks just like the stock plastic.....

I dont think any type of "goop" will solve your promlem. The only thing I can think of is to fill the hole with a bondo type filler (being carefull to only apply to the hole) and adding the texture by hand later. Then spot paint the area with a flat black paint.

Mabey you can add an emblem on both sides to cover the holes up!?!

yeah your left a little sol here best bet would be to use filler and then sand the rest of the door panel to match. just trying to fix and then texture the spot will be very very hard.

yea, or do some door panel inserts, you can bring the stock look back to life, but it'll be tough. easier to do an insert/cf/brushed alumn. stuff like that

Hmm, you know, I might just have to go all out and do something stupid with my door panel. stupid meaning cool and over the top. Just because.

Now where the heck would I get custom door panel inserts/etc?

I'd need pix to see it....but there is stuff like "liquid plastic" that people use to make custom trim work with. I've seen people make tweeter mounts out of those little triangle trim panels that you usually find in the A pillars. Perhaps that would work. Not sure how well it would bond to the door panel tho....

That's actually really cool. Could probably get a lot of ideas from that on custom accents and such.

yeah, he's doing some tc pod installs as well, but they aren't finished. if you follow that link, go back to the home page of that site, and then click the tc, you'll see the pix of it.
